Building a welcoming community of inclusiveness and leadership for new students of all levels.
Entering a new program can be stressful – learning the systems, balancing commitments, managing the coursework - not to mention forging new relationships in the process. Our students understand these challenges better than anyone, which is why we formed the Carter Network Exchange (CNX).
Our vision is to see each of our students – whether they are undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. students – immediately feel a part of community that cares about their success. To help ease the transition, program advisors identify current student mentors to extend personal invitations to come to events and join the Carter School community. These connections can share experiences, resources, information, and advice throughout the academic year. It is our hope that these relationships will continue for the entirety of each student’s scholastic journey and far beyond graduation.
At the beginning of the academic year, new students are connected to current students who can advise, include, and connect them with the larger Carter School and Mason community. Academic advisors will be available to assist with any questions about this program.
For questions, or if you are a current student who is interested in volunteering as part of the program, please reach out to your Carter School academic advisor or email ugradcar@gmu.edu
