The Carter School is proud to coordinate the development of a Global Peace Labs Network as part of its innovative peace labs initiative. This network is rapidly expanding, with the recent inauguration of the York Peace Lab in partnership with the University of York in the UK. Building on this momentum, two new Peace Labs will join the network in 2025, funded by the State Department, in Japan and Korea.
The Carter School Peace Labs Network is designed to address the grand challenges of peace and security on a global scale. By leveraging the expertise and extensive networks of our partner labs, this initiative aims to generate scalable solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues. The Peace Labs, based at the Carter School, tackle cutting-edge topics such as peace engineering, environmental peacebuilding, transitional justice, narrative transformation, depolarization, and the application of neuroscience in peace processes.
Under the guiding principle of "Stronger – Together," the network seeks to collaborate with like-minded academic institutions worldwide. By combining our efforts, we aim to enhance research, teaching, training, and community engagement programs that contribute to global peace and security.
We invite academic institutions interested in joining this transformative initiative to contact the Dean’s Office to explore potential networking opportunities.
