Biography
Greta Uehling is a cultural anthropologist whose academic research is broadly concerned with the subjective experience of war and peace, the gender dimensions of conflict resolution, and the relationship between social memory, reconciliation, and transitional justice.
She has done applied research as a consultant with a number of international organizations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Uehling has carried out research in Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the United States.
She comes to the Carter School from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she was a Teaching Professor with the Program in International and Comparative Studies.
Her most recent book is Everyday War, and she is also the author of numerous scholarly articles, book chapters, and four other books.
