Biography
James Pugel is an adjunct professor at the School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution where he teaches courses on understanding conflict in prevention, stabilization and reconstruction contexts. His research and teaching interests include social Identity; political violence; Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR); child soldiers; conflict analysis and resolution; post-war community reintegration; armed faction recruitment, allegiance, and cohesion; Africa; civil war/insurgency; Liberia; field survey research; and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and analysis. Previously, he served as a Research Associate with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) from 2006-2011.
