- August 15, 2024U.S. Navy chaplain Andrew Hoyle studied hard in the classroom to complete his master of science in conflict analysis and resolution at George Mason University in one year, but he hasn’t stopping learning and gaining more experience. This summer, the active-duty officer interned at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, D.C.

- May 15, 2024George Mason University’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution will launch the Center for Peace Tech and Entrepreneurship in September 2024. The center will be established through the gift and support of Joe Schniebs, founder and CTO of Ridgeline International, a leader in digital identity management.

This ceremony, attended by over 600 delegates and featuring esteemed dignitaries, including President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, was held under the theme of “Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Interconnectivity.” The forum provided an exceptional platform to showcase the Carter School’s expertise in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, a testament to the school's significant contributions.
- April 12, 2024Members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at George Mason University and students from Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution explored their lived experiences and had the opportunity to talk about their feelings, opinions, and thoughts regarding the current events surrounding Israel and Palestine.
- April 11, 2024The Carter School Dean Alpaslan Özerdem was named to the Alliance for Peacebuilding’s Board of Directors, further cementing the Carter School’s commitment to long-term partnering for peace with impactful organizations. The Carter School’s history with the Alliance for Peacebuilding goes back to its beginning, when Henry Hart Rice Professor Susan Allen was a founding member of the Alliance for Peacebuilding and previously served as Chair of the Board.
